  • Fueled Collective

As we celebrate International Women’s Day, please join NextUp Cincinnati at Fueled Collective Rookwood to engage in a presentation by founder of Meriden Mental Fitness and Director of the Workplace Mindfulness Team at Osher Center for Integrative Health at the University of Cincinnati, Meriden McGraw.

According to a Deloitte report, "Women @ Work 2022: A Global Outlook" which surveyed 5,000 women in the workplace across 10 countries:

• Over 50% of women want to leave their employer in the next two years and site burnout as the top reason

• 38% of women rate their work/life balance is extremely poor (on a scale of 1-5, 5 being the highest extremely poor)

• 45% of women report they are "unable" to "switch off" work at home

For many, the hybrid world we now live in is a new way of working with varying pros and cons. For optimal health and wellbeing and personal and professional success, it is imperative that women focus on the practice of work life separation; disconnecting, recharging, setting boundaries and being fully engaged with the present moment activity--whether that be at work or at home.

This session will discuss:

• the concept of and the rationale for work life separation

• the evidence and neuroscience against multitasking and what to do instead

• realistic tangible ways to implement work life separation

• the scientific research behind connecting and disconnecting and how to implement micro moments of this into daily life

Meriden makes these techniques simple and applicable for life in the 21st century so we can be our best selves personally and professionally, thus enhancing individual health, overall organizational performance, and societal wellbeing.
