Coronavirus (COVID-19) Advisory
NEW takes the safety of our community very seriously. This is especially the case during the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
NEW will continue to host Rising Stars in person. NEW will continue to monitor health advisory updates. We are fortunate that Rising Stars is a program that can be offered digitally and are prepared to convert Rising Stars to an entirely virtual program should the need arise. In the meantime, we urge all participants to follow guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, World Health Organization and local health authority guidelines.
JW Marriott Coronavirus Statement (Rising Stars hotel):
We are closely monitoring the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and World Health Organization’s statements regarding the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) cases and following the guidelines from these agencies and the local health departments. The wellbeing of our guests and associates is of paramount importance.
We are reinforcing recommended measures on appropriate hygiene standards and following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization and local health authorities. The hotel is also enforcing proper hand hygiene and ensuring that associates understand the importance of frequent handwashing. Handwashing stations are required by the hotel, and will be available to staff at all food & beverage functions (back-of-house). If the event takes place outdoors, portable hand washing stations will be available. If soap and water are unavailable, an alcohol-based hand sanitizer can be used instead. The hotel is selecting appropriate products for hygiene that are effective against viruses. They have also purchased portable hand sanitizer stations that will be placed throughout meeting spaces for all group functions.
